Metabolite Program
Once your family physician faxes the consultation our medical team will be in contact with you. Currently there is an approximately 7-10 day wait period.
Initiation
Initial Consultation with our Obesity Medicine Specialist. Each consultation is unique and consultation time will vary. A shared decision-making process will take place. This is the time to get familiar with resources we will provide and to implement small lifestyle changes.
Active Weight Loss
This is a professionally developed weight loss program. You will work with our team of physicians, dieticians and psychologist depending on your specific treatment program decided by your doctor. Medications and treatment program will be monitored and adjusted based on response and any adverse side effects noted.
Maintenance
Week 25 & forward – During this phase a decision to continue, adjust, or discontinue certain parts of your program will take place.

Obesity
Obesity is a chronic complex disease defined by excessive fat deposits that can impair health. Obesity can lead to increased risk of type 2 diabetes and heart disease, it can affect bone health and reproduction, it increases the risk of certain cancers. Obesity influences the quality of living, such as sleeping or moving.
Diet (Nutrition with meal plan)
Psychologist
We have partnered up with Psychologists that focus on the behavioral aspect of obesity. Clinical psychological interventions
include cognitive behavioral therapy which is an important element for patients to achieve sustained weight loss using a multidisciplinary team approach.
Bariatric Surgery
Based on a shared decision-making process with your doctor, a referral to a bariatric surgeon will be made case-by-case. Of note only certain procedures are covered through OHIP. Your bariatric surgeon will help better explain this and what procedure will help achieve your best weight during your consultation.

What is the cost of the program?

Are medications covered?
Medications prescribed as part of the Metabolite Program are not covered by the clinic itself. This means that patients will need to cover the cost of their medications out of pocket. However, these costs might be reimbursed or covered by the patient’s private insurance plan, depending on the specific terms and coverage of their policy.

How do I get help completing my insurance forms?
Insurance forms are not OHIP covered services. To complete any forms there is a $45 fee. To complete a payment, click the button below.
After payment is complete you can e-mail your forms to contact@metaboliteclinic.ca. All forms will be completed within 5 business days.
